Nen\u00e1padn\u00fd, ale fascinuj\u00edc\u00ed \u017eivo\u010dich jako vyst\u0159i\u017een\u00fd z prav\u011bku. Tento kor\u00fd\u0161 dor\u016fst\u00e1 7\u20139 cm a pat\u0159\u00ed mezi takzvan\u00e9 \u201e\u017eiv\u00e9 fosilie\u201c. Objevuje se jen na ja\u0159e \u2013 v periodick\u00fdch t\u016fn\u00edch, zaplaven\u00fdch louk\u00e1ch nebo p\u0159\u00edkopech, kde se odehr\u00e1v\u00e1 jeho kr\u00e1tk\u00fd, ale intenzivn\u00ed \u017eivotn\u00ed p\u0159\u00edb\u011bh. Z vaj\u00ed\u010dek, kter\u00e1 dok\u00e1\u017eou p\u0159e\u017e\u00edt sucho i n\u011bkolik let, se b\u011bhem p\u00e1r t\u00fddn\u016f vyvine dosp\u011blec. Ten m\u00e1 pak jedin\u00fd \u00fakol \u2013 zajistit dal\u0161\u00ed generaci d\u0159\u00edv, ne\u017e voda zmiz\u00ed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

V \u010cesku je listonoh jarn\u00ed velmi vz\u00e1cn\u00fd a pat\u0159\u00ed mezi kriticky ohro\u017een\u00e9 druhy. Miz\u00ed hlavn\u011b kv\u016fli \u00fabytku p\u0159irozen\u00fdch t\u016fn\u00ed a zm\u011bn\u00e1m v krajin\u011b.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kdy\u017e jsem jeho fotografie ukazoval kamar\u00e1dce B\u011btce, rozesm\u00e1la se. \u201ePod\u00edvej se na n\u011bj, jak m\u00e1 chud\u00e1k o\u010di bl\u00edzko u sebe!\u201c Matka p\u0159\u00edroda se na n\u011bm po\u0159\u00e1dn\u011b vy\u0159\u00e1dila! A m\u011bla pravdu \u2013 jeho vzhled je opravdu sv\u00e9r\u00e1zn\u00fd. P\u0159\u00edroda si s n\u00edm kdysi dala z\u00e1le\u017eet a fantazii rozhodn\u011b ne\u0161et\u0159ila.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tadpole shrimp (Lepidurus apus)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

An inconspicuous yet fascinating creature, as if straight out of prehistory. This crustacean grows to about 7\u20139 cm and is considered a \u201cliving fossil.\u201d It appears only in spring, inhabiting temporary pools, flooded meadows, and ditches\u2014places where its short but intense life story unfolds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From eggs capable of surviving dry conditions for several years, adults develop within just a few weeks. They then have a single mission: to ensure the next generation before the water disappears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Czech Republic, the spring tadpole shrimp is very rare and classified as critically endangered. It is declining mainly due to the loss of natural temporary pools and ongoing changes in the landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I showed photos of it to my friend Elizabeth, she burst out laughing: \u201cLook at him, his eyes are so close together!\u201d Nature really had fun with this one. And she was right\u2014its appearance is truly peculiar. Nature once gave it plenty of attention and certainly didn\u2019t hold back on creativity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
