I was born in 1981 in the South-East Moravia and since my childhood my parents tought me (during our rambles through the bottomland woods) how to love the nature and everything living. I live in the region where are lots of various bodies of water, wetlands and sand quaries and I always wanted to look into the mysterious world which is hidden under the water surface.<\/span><\/p>\n

I fulfilled my wish quite recently, in summer 2006, when my friend (a fisherman and diver) took me to snorkel among our water giants \u2013 sheatfish. I fell in love with the freshwater world at that moment and started to be interested in diving equipment and possibilities.<\/span><\/p>\n

From the beginning It was something like an \u201cinnocent paddling\u201c with basic ABC equipment, whose purpose was to find out something about the fish behaviour and discovering the best places for fishing (it used to be my great hobby that times). During the time the amount of my underwater adventures oversized my walking to the water with a fishing rod. I bought a small watertight case for my compact camera and I started recording my view of the underwater world for the first time. Diving and photographing in the freshwater really impressed me.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During the time my small compact started to be insufficient for me and I decided to invest and I bought a three-lens reflect camera, underwater case and a flash. I finished a diving course and completed my diving equipment to realise my underwater photographic dreams. I attend some photo-diving festivals where it is possible to compare and discuss the photos with a lot of similarly \u201ccrazy\u201c people and friends. One of the festivals I attended was UV FOTO Brno where I met my friend, photographer Viktor Vrbovsk\u00fd, with whom I have been planing our trips to underwater adventures.<\/span><\/p>\n

And so the fresh-underwater photographing became my great life passion and challenge, both in its difficulty and its peculiar and unique magic.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u010cESKY<\/span><\/h3>\n

V\u00edtejte na str\u00e1nk\u00e1ch v\u011bnovan\u00fdm sladkovodn\u00edm sv\u011bt\u016fm. Jmenuji se Rostislav \u0160tef\u00e1nek<\/strong> narodil jsem se v roce 1981 na jihov\u00fdchodn\u00ed Morav\u011b, a ji\u017e od ml\u00e1d\u00ed u m\u011b rodi\u010de p\u0159i toulk\u00e1ch po lu\u017en\u00edch les\u00edch a jezerech p\u011bstovali kladn\u00fd vztah k\u00a0p\u0159\u00edrod\u011b a v\u0161emu \u017eiv\u00e9mu. Bydl\u00edm v kraji, kde je velk\u00e9 mno\u017estv\u00ed vodn\u00edch ploch pota\u017emo mok\u0159ad\u016f, p\u00edskoven a \u0159\u00ed\u010dek. V\u017edy m\u011b l\u00e1kalo pod\u00edvat se do tajupln\u00fdch sv\u011bt\u016f ukryt\u00fdch pod vodn\u00ed hladinou. <\/span><\/p>\n

Toto p\u0159\u00e1n\u00ed jsem si splnil a\u017e pom\u011brn\u011b ned\u00e1vno n\u011bkdy v l\u00e9t\u011b roku 2006, kdy m\u011b po domluv\u011b m\u016fj kamar\u00e1d ryb\u00e1\u0159 a pot\u00e1p\u011b\u010d vzal na \u201e\u0161norchlova\u010dku\u201c mezi na\u0161e vodn\u00ed obry \u2013 sumce velk\u00e9. Sladkovodn\u00ed sv\u011bt se stal v tu chv\u00edli mou srde\u010dn\u00ed z\u00e1le\u017eitost\u00ed a za\u010dal jsem se v\u00e1\u017en\u011b zaj\u00edmat o pot\u00e1p\u011b\u010dsk\u00e9 vybaven\u00ed a mo\u017enosti. Zpo\u010d\u00e1tku to bylo takov\u00e9 \u201enevinn\u00e9 pl\u00e1c\u00e1n\u00ed\u201c se z\u00e1kladn\u00ed ABC v\u00fdstroj\u00ed, jeho\u017e z\u00e1m\u011brem bylo zjistit, jak se pod vodou ryby chovaj\u00ed a kde by mohla b\u00fdt ta nejlep\u0161\u00ed m\u00edsta k rybolovu, kter\u00fd jsem v t\u00e9 dob\u011b docela intenzivn\u011b provozoval. <\/span><\/p>\n

Postupem \u010dasu po\u010det podvodn\u00edch dobrodru\u017estv\u00ed p\u0159ev\u00fd\u0161il doch\u00e1zky k vod\u011b s pruty, p\u0159ibylo mal\u00e9 plastov\u00e9 vodot\u011bsn\u00e9 pouzdro na m\u016fj kompaktn\u00ed fotoapar\u00e1t, a tak jsem za\u010dal poprv\u00e9 zaznamen\u00e1vat m\u016fj pohled na podvodn\u00ed sv\u011bt. Pot\u00e1p\u011bn\u00ed a fotografov\u00e1n\u00ed ve sladk\u00e9 vod\u011b m\u011b doslova nadchlo.<\/span>\u00a0Postupem \u010dasu m\u011b m\u016fj mal\u00fd kompakt p\u0159estal sta\u010dit a j\u00e1 se rozhodl zainvestovat a po\u0159\u00eddil si zrcadlovku se t\u0159emi objektivy, podvodn\u00edm pouzdrem a bleskem. Rovn\u011b\u017e jsem absolvoval pot\u00e1p\u011b\u010dsk\u00fd kurz a doplnil pot\u00e1p\u011b\u010dskou v\u00fdbavu tak, abych mohl realizovat sv\u00e9 podvodn\u00ed fotografick\u00e9 sny. Sou\u010d\u00e1st\u00ed toho v\u0161eho jsou tak\u00e9 n\u00e1v\u0161t\u011bvy pot\u00e1p\u011b\u010dsko-fotografick\u00fdch festival\u016f, kde \u010dlov\u011bk m\u016f\u017ee porovn\u00e1vat a diskutovat o sn\u00edmc\u00edch s\u00a0celou \u0159adou podobn\u011b \u201ebl\u00e1zniv\u00fdch\u201c lid\u00ed a kamar\u00e1d\u016f. Jedn\u00edm z prvn\u00edch festival\u016f, kter\u00e9ho jsem se z\u00fa\u010dastnil, byl UW FOTO Brno, kde jsem se tak\u00e9 sezn\u00e1mil s kamar\u00e1dem fotografem Viktorem Vrbovsk\u00fdm, se kter\u00fdm dote\u010f pl\u00e1nujeme na\u0161e v\u00fdpravy za podvodn\u00edm dobrodru\u017estv\u00edm. <\/span><\/p>\n

A tak se stalo sladko-podvodn\u00ed fotografov\u00e1n\u00ed moj\u00ed velkou \u017eivotn\u00ed v\u00e1\u0161n\u00ed a v\u00fdzvou, jak ve svoj\u00ed pom\u011brn\u011b velk\u00e9 n\u00e1ro\u010dnosti, tak ve sv\u00e9m osobit\u00e9m a jedine\u010dn\u00e9m kouzlu.<\/span><\/p>\n
